White presents New Karolinska Solna at European Healthcare Design in London

When: 27 Jun

Location: Royal College of Physicians

Charlotte Ruben, architect and partner at White will be holding a lecture about the New Karolinska Solna University Hospital at the European Healthcare Design conference.

Ruben’s presentation – “A world-class university hospital for a new health system in Stockholm” – will focus on the New Karolinska Solna (NKS) university hospital.

White Arkitekter won the design competition for NKS in 2006 and teamed up with Tengbom (forming the White Tengbom Team) to continue working with this ultramodern infrastructure. One of the principal aims of this project is to enhance the interaction between healthcare, research and training. NKS is built by Swedish Hospital Partners, a consortium comprising Skanska from Sweden and Innisfree from the UK. The hospital’s first patient is scheduled to check in, in November 2016.

In addition to this presentation, Charlotte Ruben is also an award jury member in the Healthcare Design (Under 25,000 sqm) category.

European Healthcare Design is organised by Architects for Health and SALUS Global Knowledge Exchange, and this year’s theme is “Vanguards of change: Co-designing services and settings to improve quality and access”. For more information and to register for the event, visit the EHCD website.
