Key words:
Designing housing for the elderly in modern Sweden is not so much a matter of what the user wants. Instead, the architect focuses on the standards that apply from a pure healthcare perspective. Hygiene requirements and personnel aspects come first. The quality of life of the elderly loses out.
The Swedish school is worn out, tired and in great need of regeneration. But instead of patching up and repairing, it is better to demolish and build from scratch. In many cases it is cheaper as well. Don’t let penny-pinching impose on wisdom. A new school is not an expense, it is an investment.
Keeping down energy consumption in new buildings is obvious. However, the new building regulations do not always encourage innovations. There are also elements that have a great impact on modern architecture. The glass façade may be threatened with extinction.
