Go back

When Carlsberg Sweden decided to leave its old premises in a dated 60’s building, they had the goal of moving into a modern space where an efficient, open plan could be designed to reflect the Carlsberg brand of today. The chosen location is one of White’s previous projects, making our firm Carlsberg’s architect of choice.

White’s task was to design the headquarter interiors as a representation of the marriage of the company’s rich solid history with their current international leading position; and, at the same time highlight Carlsberg Group’s variety of brands.

The base palette of the interiors is a composition of earthy colors and naturally luxurious materials: white stained ash, marble, copper and leather. Accent colors from the entire rainbow spectrum are added to create and define clear zones of activity while adding visual variety.

At the heart of the headquarters is the bar, centrally located in the glass atrium and linked to surrounding areas by a number of footbridges. Offices have a base palette of white, dark gray and white stained ash surfaces. Their placement is strategically staggered around an open “square” with meeting rooms and lounges in distinct color themes and varied furnishings. The office “square” is enhanced by pixelated floor pattern inspired by carbonated bubbles.

Through all the external surfaces – from the entrance lounge, with a bar to the conference rooms and offices – the focus has been on custom designed joinery and solid materials. The final result is a space with a sense of premium quality and clear Scandinavian origin with a playful urban and international vibe.
