The brief was to produce a concept for the student residences of the future, concentrating on the economics and ease of construction, and also to propose a building that would fit into the sensitive plot and which would also be suitable for building at other locations in the country.

Economics and ease of construction were the subject of much focus. In our winning proposal, we concentrated on the social aspects of student life. At the best viewpoints, we have placed hubs – everyday sitting rooms or meeting places in which people can stretch out when their single student room feels too confining or too lonely.

From the jury’s statement:
An interesting, original and versatile proposal, making good use of the conditions provided by the site. In a modern interpretation, the building volumes possess some of the characteristics of the existing, older buildings. In particular, the façade facing onto the river, in the way it is broken down and varied, is appealing and could be an asset to the area. The apartments are well designed, from the smallest to the largest and the proposed communal areas at the viewpoints have all the foundations for becoming a unique asset for the people living there. The proposal also demonstrates the very best economic feasibility.
