Research and development
Innovation is at the core of our practice and culture and we invest heavily in research, development and training. We have built up our research capabilities over 6 decades to support our projects with latest developments, needs and opportunities, trends and behaviours. A network operates throughout the practice to share experiences and lessons learned.
Within White we have networks assigned to specific areas of expertise or sectors and these form an overarching network across all offices. The networks operate in different areas of expertise: Residential, Building Technology, Retail, Interior Design, Office, Landscape Architecture, Sustainability, Project Management, Masterplanning, Education and Healthcare. Study tours, seminars and debates provide the opportunity for all staff, clients and project partners to share knowledge and debate topical issues.
Our inquisitive culture forms the backbone of everything we do. Driven by a desire to explore the unknown and find new solutions we initiate research projects as well as in collaboration with academic and commercial partners, locally and globally. The research is part funded by ARQ, our research fund, and integrated into our projects.
Research and education
Working in partnership with universities and research institutes, our research extends into the field of academic specifically in the areas of sustainable design, urban development, architecture theory, healthcare and parametric design. Our research competence is constantly growing, now including the latest developments in digital design. New digital technology provides new opportunities for architecture, through new expressions enabled by parametric design as well as the more effective processes we achieve through BIM.
