We constantly want to improve ourselves in our projects. We are keen to remain at the forefront of innovations in our field of business. In order to deliver the best, we are inquisitive and constantly want to develop our knowledge, but also to utilise the experiences of all our employees. That is why we have our Research & Development department. White’s research & development development department consists of extensive Knowledge Networks active throughout the whole company.

White’s R&D department is a unique phenomenon in Scandinavia. No other architectural office has such comprehensive development activities.

Within White, the R&D department is an important meeting place with no geographical boundaries, and it is open to all employees. The R&D department has two overall goals:

Continually develop our knowledge so that we can offer clients and users the greatest possible value.

To make use of, bring together and promote all the knowledge, skills and wealth of ideas possessed by all our employees.

Through this we can utilise the potential of being a large company, and offer our employees further development they cannot find elsewhere. Anyone who turns to White will meet creative individuals, as well as having direct access to a large knowledge network.

Activities within the R&D department take place in knowledge fields organised into networks. A common feature for the various networks is that every year numerous activities are conducted together with clients and partners in order to highlight relevant topics. This often takes place in externally organised symposia, seminars and workshops. Internal education and network meetings are arranged, where current and relevant issues are discussed. Deeper studies of these issues are carried out in R&D projects , often supported by ARQ (the Foundation for Architectural Research).

Every year we also award an internal prize for the best innovation, and we arrange study trips for all employees to various places where interesting architectural developments are going on.

Our knowledge is our most important capital. We take care of it tenderly, as well as trying to extend its boundaries. All with the aim of achieving the best possible quality and performance.

Fredrik Nilsson, Director of Research and Development
